We have updated our plugin MosImageLink today. It is now a "Joomla 1.5 native" plugin and we renamed it to BC ImageLink 2.0. It still does just one simple thing: in the blog view of a section or a category it adds the readon-link to the first image in the introtext. No configuration needed - just install and publish the plugin.

Joomlaexpert.com has released a new free plugin (mambot) for Joomla 1.0.x: JX-Title. This plugin show the section or category title of your content in the background of your content-title. Example:

The "trick" is full CSS and can be configured in the plugin administration. Be sure to check the source code of the plugin to see how the CSS works before you create your own class.

The mambot / plugin lets you style your content more flexible than joomla does without this plugin. You can create your own style using the patTemplate engine. Create global templates or define special templates for contentitems or categories and sections.

This plugin gives you all the data stored in the joomla tables as placeholders for your templates.

But that’s not all… You can also use exactly the same placeholders directly in your content! Just type a text like this “Hello # #visitor_name# #, nice to see you again. Your last login was # #visitor_lastlogin# #.” directly into your joomla content. The plugin generates something like “Hello Thomas, nice to see you again…”.

• Check your backup (!!!!!)

• check for the latest version of Joomla / Mambo and update if needed
• check if you have one of the components used to hack the sites installed (check here and search for mambo and joomla or read this thread)
• if you have one or more of them, you'll have to update them (if a fix is available), manualy fix the problem or delete the program
• be sure to delete the files via FTP.
• IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE FILES ARE DELETED FROM THE SERVER!!!!

• set as much directories as possible to read only
• set configuration.php in the root to read only
• 
  
• check your server-logs for strings like "mosconfig" (indicates an attack - doesn't mean that you are hacked, but check if the called script exists on your server)
• 
  
• check server settings for RegisterGlobals. This should be set "off" (none of the known hacks would work with this setting - unfortunately some scripts won't work with this setting. Think about deleting these scripts)
• try to "harden" your site through .htaccess rules (check this thread for examples)

We have released a new version of our popular free Mambot MosAuthorXTD. At the moment, it is a RC-Version - so please report problems you may have... We are pretty confident, that there should be no real bugs ;-)

First, the new version fixes some problems with Joomla 1.0.9 and 1.0.10. But it also contains some really new features:

• You can now select for each position where it shall be shown
• several new placeholders have been added
• the author is now connected to a contact-entry
• the image from contacts can be shown with the mambot
• noshow-problem fixed
